I have danced since I was a little girl, which makes it more than 50 years of dancing intensely, amazing. I was privileged to study expressionist/modern dance, improvisation, and composition with Mary Wigman, and classical ballet with Tatjana Gsowski in Berlin. After a professional dance career in Germany (Stuttgart Ballet, Frankfurt Opera, Munich Gaertnerplatztheater) my focus switched to dance-movement therapy in search of genuine, authentic expression through dancing. In my counselling practice in B.C., one of my major therapeutic approaches was dance-movement therapy. Since 1997 I have embraced dancing the Argentine tango. Teachers I studied with are Eduardo Saucedo, Fabian Salas, Osvaldo Zotto and Lorena, Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa, Pablo Nievas and Valeria Zunina, Aurora Lubiz, Gustavo Naveira and |

Giselle-Ann, Daniel Lapadula, Eduardo Aguirre and Yvonne Meissner, Susana Miller, Cacho Dante, Miguel Pla, Metin Yazir, Florencia Taccetti, Michael Young, you name them. In tango, my focus is on connecting with another person in movement and music, enhancing and stimulating each other’s experience of dancing and, at the same time, dancing one’s own, personal expression of self. Dancing, for me, is being. It is magical. In teaching tango I can bring together my love for dancing, music, people, and people in relationhips. At this point in my personal development as a tanguera my focus is on the fine-tuned expression of musicality and how to express: to my partner in the connection and breath, to the floor in the touch of my feet, withheld and severed just to myself? After teaming up with Michael in the summer of 2002 we have taught Argentine tango in many cities in Canada, the United States, Mexico, and in Buenos Aires. It has been an outstanding experience to be Tango nomads on the road over such a long time, - over four years it has been. There's a novel hidden in this. We cannot thank enough the many wonderful people who have helped us along and made our journey possible and enjoyable. On another note: Despite having been a life-long dancer I have had many diverse interests and professions, for example I have taught German language and literature at Scottish and Canadian universities for 12 years. Besides dance another passion of mine is psychotherapy - and I have worked in that field for many years on Salt Spring Island and in Victoria, B.C. However, the really outstanding experiences of my life have been my four beautiful children who are all doing their own extraordinary work on different continents on this bizarre globe.
